After a diabolical decade, Distortions Unlimited has decided to put a stake in Monster Day Greeley.  The final event is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 from noon to 5 p.m., along with A Monster Day kick off concert the night before, August 21 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Monster Day is a beloved tradition that transforms the 8th and 9th Street plazas in Downtown Greeley into a full-blown monster mash, complete with roaming creatures, photo ops, professional makeup demos, vendor booths, performances, face painting, kids’ activities and the fan-favorite costume contest.

What began ten years ago as an idea from Ed Edmunds, of Distortions Unlimited, Monster Day has grown into a nationally attended event celebrating all things monster.

“We’ve loved doing Monster Day with all our heart for almost a decade now, but just like an old vampire, it’s time to put a stake in it.” – Marsah and Ed Edmunds of Distortions Unlimited.

Monster Day is a partnership between Distortions Unlimited,  Greeley’s world-famous Halloween manufacturing company and Downtown Greeley. Discussions are underway about an annual fall event formulated with the same spirit as Monster Day. (We’ll share more details if and when they are finalized.)

“When we first planned to create Monster Day, we knew it would be a creative experience, but we had no idea what it would grow to become.  As a committee member for all ten years, Monster Day has broadened my appreciation of creativity and how a community can come together to celebrate monsters in our culture.” -Michelle Kempema, Executive Director of Colorado Model Railroad Museum.

In this final year, plans are underway to make this the biggest Monster Day celebration ever.  More details will be released leading up to the event, follow Monster Day on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date.
